Fashion Institute of Technology won Region XV Women's Tennis Championship. The win earns the Tigers a trip to NJCAA Division Tournament. Under the direction of Region XV "Coach-of-the-Year" Lynn Cabot-Puro, the Fashion Institute of Technology swept all nine flights en route to an impressive 2011 Region XV Championship win. By winning the title, FIT earned a spot in the upcoming NJCAA Women's Division III National Tennis Championship which begins Wednesday October 26. All national tournament action will be held at the historic USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, New York. Region XV "Player-of-the-Year" Alyssa Bernstein won a 6-1, 6-2 decision against Kingsborough's Paulisha Thomas to claim the First Singles Championship. She then teamed up with Amanda Cabey and defeated the team of Thomas and Rosalia Xue of Kingsborough 6-3, 6-0 to win the First Doubles Championship. Suffolk County Community College took home the second place trophy while Kingsborough finished third.
